Volunteer Wellbeing & Mentoring Support Worker

About the Role
Be The Change Youth Project CIC is looking for an enthusiastic Wellbeing & Mentoring Volunteer to gain valuable experience while helping us develop and establish a new Youth Hub and community project at the Botanical Gardens in Rhyl.

The role will involve supporting young people through positive activities, mentoring, encouragement and wellbeing-focused sessions. Full training, guidance and ongoing supervision will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
The volunteer will support:

Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
Providing informal mentoring, guidance and encouragement.
Supporting young people with confidence, motivation, personal development and positive decision-making.
Helping deliver wellbeing and mental health awareness activities within appropriate boundaries.
Supporting youth sessions, outreach programmes and community activities.
Helping young people access appropriate support services when additional help is needed.
Supporting sports, creative and positive activity projects that promote wellbeing and social connection.
Supporting young people participating in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and leadership activities.
Working alongside Denbighshire County Council, Youth Offending Team and local schools where appropriate.
Supporting networking and partnership activities that benefit young people.
Helping create a safe, welcoming and inclusive Youth Hub environment.
Training & Development
Full training, guidance and supervision will be provided.

This role offers valuable experience in youth work, mentoring, wellbeing, community engagement, communication and partnership working.

The volunteer will develop skills in active listening, professional boundaries, communication, teamwork, safeguarding and signposting, while gaining practical experience that can support their CV, college course, future employment or career development.

The volunteer will work within their level of training and competence and will not be expected to provide clinical or therapeutic mental health support.
