The Role
Delta Rock, as industrial electrical and automation engineers, work in a variety of industries, including food and beverage, manufacturing, waste management, pharmaceutical and chemical. Our team of specialist engineers are involved with an array of on-site projects from industrial electrical installations to maintenance to providing electrical compliance certification and the design, manufacture, and installation of automation robotic design systems.
However, all electricians will have a broad range of similar technical knowledge and practical skills to enable them to carry out their work safely and correctly.
Some of the things that an electrician will be expected to do are:
- Install, maintain and repair electrical services
- Work indoors and outdoors and be prepared to sometimes work at height
- Work with little or no supervision; relying on their own initiative
- Be prepared to travel away from home
- Develop good working relationships with people
- Read both building and engineering drawings
- Understand wiring and circuit diagrams
- Select (within limits) materials and equipment
- Inspect and test electrical installations
- Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of circuits and equipment
- Write reports
Training Provided
On joining Delta Rock, you will instantly become part of our team. You will be supported from day one by our Apprenticeship Officer, along with senior leaders and our team of experienced and qualified electrical engineers.
Our aim is to help you reach your potential to become an intrinsic member of our team.
You will receive a structured learning program that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction and learning.
Entry Requirements
- GCSE A-C (9-4) in Maths, English & Technical Subject (for example Science or Design Technology)
- L2 Electrical Installation qualification (desirable)
- Good practical skills to work with hand and power tools
- The ability to follow technical drawings and instructions
- A methodical approach to work
- An ability to pay close attention to detail
- A commitment to keep up to date with industry developments
- The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work at height
- Normal colour vision
- A thorough understanding of safety rules and regulations
