Grounds Maintenance Operative

We’re looking to hire an enthusiastic and committed grounds maintenance team member to join our team of landscape professionals.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a varied range of maintenance duties to our landscaped sites in and around the North West, delivering to the highest standard on commercial projects, which is maintained all year round.

Previous experience along with the highest standards of workmanship, and a keen eye for detail are very important to this role. High level of enthusiasm and ambition to progress up the ladder is also a key trait we look for.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will require you to undertake a varied range of grounds maintenance duties including the following:

• Groundskeeping: Regularly mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and maintaining flowerbeds to keep outdoor areas neat and tidy.
• Landscaping: Assisting with the design and implementation of landscaping projects, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, as well as laying paths and installing outdoor fixtures.
• Pest Control: Identifying and controlling pests that may damage plants or pose a threat to the environment, using safe and appropriate methods.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition, including lawnmowers, trimmers, power tools and ride ons.
• Safety Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of outdoor areas to identify and address any safety hazards, such as uneven surfaces or damaged fixtures.
• Seasonal Maintenance: Performing seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance in autumn, snow removal in winter, and watering plants during dry periods.
• Waste Management: Collecting and disposing of green waste, litter, and other debris in an environmentally friendly manner.
• Customer Service: Interacting with clients, tenants, and the public in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any concerns or inquiries related to grounds maintenance.

Qualifications/Experience

Previous grounds maintenance experience and a keen eye for detail are very important to this role. A good knowledge of Health & Safety, current CSCS card and a driving license are advantageous.
