Level 3 Welding Apprentice – Aluminium TIG

Wylfa Fabrication Ltd (Wylfa Hardtops) is a growing company focused on producing high-quality, innovative products. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a motivated apprentice to join our fast-paced workshop team.

The role will involve assembly and TIG welding of aluminium hardtops, as well as operating CNC press brake and plasma cutting equipment.

We are looking for someone eager to learn and develop their skills. Our goal is to train an apprentice to our high standards and build a long-term position within the company.

Key Responsibilities

-Assist in the assembly and TIG welding of aluminium pickup hardtops.

-Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, cleaning, and fitting aluminium components.

-Operate workshop machinery such as CNC press brake and plasma cutting equipment (full training provided).

-Read and follow technical drawings and job specifications.

-Carry out basic fabrication tasks including drilling, grinding, and finishing components.

-Work closely with the fabrication team to maintain quality standards and production targets.

-Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.

-Maintain a clean and organised work area.

– Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new skills and maintain a positive, proactive attitude.

Skills

• Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Welding or a relevant Level 2 Engineering qualification.

• Maths & English: GCSE Grades A*–C (or equivalent) are generally required to meet the Level 3 framework in Wales.

Salary: £18,000 – £24,000 depending on age/experience
