Logistics Apprentice

Purpose of the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in logistics with a growing international business.
As a Logistics Apprentice at ICTUK, you will get the chance to work with experienced teams across the areas of the business: Warehouse Operations, Transport, and Purchasing and Planning.

You’ll rotate between these departments to learn how products are received, stored, moved, and delivered — from the moment raw materials arrive at our site to when finished goods leave for our customers. You’ll also learn how we order supplies, work with transport companies, and use technology to keep everything running smoothly.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on experience, build your confidence, and learn practical skills that will set you up for a future career in logistics, supply chain, or operations. We’ll support your development every step of the way, and you’ll study towards a nationally recognised qualification while earning a wage.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Rotation:

• Help receive and check incoming deliveries
• Support the storage, picking, and dispatch of goods
• Learn to use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock
• Assist with regular stock counts and keep inventory accurate
• Understand and follow health and safety procedures in the warehouse

Transport Rotation:

• Support the planning and scheduling of customer deliveries
• Assist with checking delivery paperwork and system records
• Communicate with drivers and transport partners to solve day-to-day issues
• Learn about vehicle compliance, routing, and legal requirements

Production Planning Rotation:

• Learn how customer demand, forecasts, and stock levels are translated into production plans
• Assist with monitoring material availability to ensure production can run without interruption
• Help update planning systems and spreadsheets with accurate production and stock data
• Work with Warehouse, Purchasing, and Production teams to resolve planning or supply issues

Purchasing Rotation:

• Help raise purchase orders and track deliveries from suppliers
• Learn to check invoices, chase deliveries, and update systems
• Understand how lead times and supplier performance impact the business
• Work with the team to solve supply issues and ensure materials arrive on time

General:

• Complete apprenticeship coursework and attend training as required
• Follow all company health and safety policies
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and willingness to learn
• Support team projects and continuous improvement activities

Person Specification

• A genuine interest in logistics and supply chain operations
•  Good communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude

Qualifications Required

• 4 GCSE’s at grade c/4 and above which must include Maths and English
