The Wrexham site, which employs in the region of 350 workers, is a manufacturing site as well as an Energy Network Solution hub. We produce Low, Medium and High Voltage cables up to 132kV as well as accessories and components; using high-grade, fire-resistant materials invariably sought after by key institutions and multinational companies. Wrexham also manufactures submarine cables used for offshore wind farms.

About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Process Engineer/ Continuous Improvement Technician to join our team at our Wrexham factory. You will report to the Product and Process Engineering Manager and be responsible for applying engineering solutions in order to support and improve all aspects of the manufacturing process.

This position will be working within the components side of the business.

This position could potentially suit a recent engineering graduate, as we would be able to provide the person with the exposure required to gain experience within a global cable making company, with opportunities to develop and progress.

Responsibilities

·      You will be involved in a wide range of projects covering process optimization, process commissioning, materials usage and the introduction of new products in to manufacturing together with the support tasks required to achieve the above, such as maintenance of data systems and producing process instructions.

·       Actively apply continuous improvement and proactive methodologies to ensure that optimum quality, product and machine efficiencies are obtained with minimum waste.

·       Conduct root cause analysis

·       Identify and resolve issues throughout production

·       Responsible for providing mentoring support to placement student

Qualifications & Requirements

·       Qualified to HND / HNC, in an appropriate Engineering discipline or above.

·       Hold previous experience within a manufacturing or similar environment ideally although a graduate will also be considered.

·       Possess sound theoretical engineering knowledge.

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and work at all levels.

·       A high level of drive and energy are required to achieve objectives whilst ensuring standards are maintained.

·       Demonstrate problem solving skills, tenacity and creative thinking.

·       Display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
