Apprentice Laboratory Technician (Level 2)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Level 2 Apprentice Laboratory Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing laboratory while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

You will support our Quality Control and R&D functions, ensuring that products meet strict performance and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with routine laboratory testing of masterbatch materials (e.g. colour matching, dispersion, melt flow, mechanical properties)
Prepare samples and conduct quality control checks in line with specifications
Record and analyse test data accurately using laboratory systems
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is up to date
Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
Support continuous improvement activities within the lab
Work closely with production, technical, and quality teams

What We’re Looking For

A strong interest in science, chemistry, or materials
GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science (Grade 4/C or above)
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn

Apprenticeship Details

Qualification: Level 2 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship
Training Provider: Delivered in partnership with a recognised training provider
Duration: Typically 12-18 months
Learning Format: Combination of on-the-job training and off-site/online study
