About Us
A Wrexham based employer evolving from traditional manufacturing to advanced CNC machining is actively seeking to recruit a key member of staff to support business growth.

The Role
As a Technical Apprentice, you’ll receive hands-on training in woodworking and machine operation while learning to integrate CAD/CAM/CNC manufacturing techniques into joinery products. With mentorship from experienced joiners, you’ll build skills in precision woodworking – from bench joinery and traditional wood working machinery techniques to advanced engineering CAD/CAM CNC production.

Key Responsibilities
• Set up and safely operate wood machining equipment (e.g., table saws, routers, CNC machines)
• Assist in producing custom joinery based on technical drawings and client specifications
• Maintain clean, organised workshop spaces and tools

What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Strong interest in woodworking, design, and manufacturing
• Good attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn
• Basic numeracy/literacy (GCSE B or above in English language and mathematics)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Someone who has the willingness and capability to learn the required knowledge
and skills, and take on the required responsibilities to enable them to progress to
a senior position within Derwen joinery
Desirable
• Experience with hand tools, woodwork in a school/hobby setting
• Basic familiarity with CAD software or technical drawing principles
