Warehouse and Logistics Apprentice (Band 7)
We have a vacancy for a starter role for an individual wanting a career in warehousing and logistics. This role encompasses on-the-job learning, if necessary day release learning at Coleg Cambria (Deeside) and operational duties in our high-tech life sciences facility on Deeside Industrial Park CH5 2UA. Working hours will be 9:00 to 17:30.

It is essential that candidates are organised and meticulous, have good communication skills and are good team members. They must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in a career in logistics and facilities and must have five or more GCSE passes including English and Maths. Applicants must be able to
independently get to college and to our site at 2 Tenth Avenue, Deeside Industrial Park, Deeside, CH5 2UA.

This is a starter role for individuals wanting a career in warehousing and logistics.
This role encompasses on-the-job learning, day release learning at Coleg Cambria (if necessary) and operational duties in the warehouse and in the wider company.

General duties

  • To assist in the ordering, receipt and storage of goods for the company under the direction of the Facilities and Purchasing manager.
  • Ensure the warehouse and store-room are clean and safe at all times and appropriate cleaning records are completed
  • Weekly/Monthly stock checks monitoring minimum stock levels/ensuring issued stock is monitored.
  • Assist in equipment and facilities maintenance.
  • Maintain all documentation to the GDP standard.
  • Accurate and meticulous record keeping
  • To arrange collection and produce all necessary paperwork for shipping goods to customers worldwide.
  • To deputise for Facilities and Purchasing manager and act as site host for contractors when required.
    Learning
  • To complete workplace training, acquiring practical skills and experiences
  • To obtain and maintain certificates of competence for ADR and IATA
  • To attend Coleg Cambria as required and attain an NVQ level III in Warehousing and Logistics.To uphold and promote Company Values
  • To embrace and support the Company vision
  • To lead by example, demonstrating professionalism to colleagues, customer and all company contacts
  • To always dress and act in a professional manner
  • To comply with all quality control procedures to support maintenance of the Biofortuna Quality Management System
  • To comply with safe working practices
  • To participate fully in the Annual Appraisal process
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with Role and Banding

The first year (under 21) apprentice salary at Biofortuna is enhanced and is £18,000 (£9.23 per hour) including paid time for day release study if it is needed. Apprentices over the age of 21 are paid £24,000 (£12.30 per hour).
