A Wrexham based employer evolving from traditional manufacturing to advanced CNC machining is actively seeking to recruit a key member of staff to support business growth.
The Role
As a Technical Operations Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of both digital and administrative systems across the business. From supporting CAD/CAM workflows to assisting with business systems and safety compliance, this is a varied and hands-on role of technology, production, and administration.
Working closely with the shop floor (joinery staff), designers and the management team, you’ll provide day-to-day support that helps keep our operations efficient.
Derwen seek to appoint a highly motivated, exceptionally well educated and driven
individual with a desire to develop a career within a diverse manufacturing environment.
Whilst recruitment will focus on a high baseline of core skills, Derwen will support the
appointee with all appropriate mentorship and training to ensure the total effectiveness
and discharge of this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Support workshop and office technology
• Assist in managing digital file preparation for production, including CAD/CAM/CNC data input
• Help administer and improve business systems including documentation and data handling
• Contribute to health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) processes
• Maintain documentation and support compliance audits as required
• Assist with internal communications, job scheduling, and system updates
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, and colleagues to ensure accurate information flow and strong working relationship.
Key Activities
To support an office administrative function across:
• Business-Wide Operations
• Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
• Business Systems & Digital Workflows
• Work Winning and Bid Support
• Fostering Positive Client Relationships
• CAD/CAM – CNC Production Drafting and Data Input
• Collaborative member of the estimating team
What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Competent in IT, with a significant interest in design technology and technical operations
• Strong effective communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Evidence of competency in office software (e.g. Microsoft Office) and digital file formats
• Evidence of literacy and numeracy, A level C and above
Desirable
• Experience with CAD/CAM related production
• Previous exposure to office administration or digital production systems
• Understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and design processes
• Familiarity with SHEQ and compliance
