Office Volunteer

What is an office volunteer?

An office volunteer supports staff and other volunteers to complete office administration and tasks to gather information and produce resources.

Where will I be volunteering?

This volunteer role is based remotely or in the main office environment where there is access to staff support, equipment and resources needed to complete tasks.

When can I volunteer?

During office hours, Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm.

Projects may be able to be carried out remotely at a time that suits your availability.

What will I be doing as an office volunteer?

As an office volunteer, tasks will involve:

• Promoting Home-Start Flintshire on social media
• Design leaflets and posters to promote the organisation
• Telephone calls to gather information
• Administrative tasks
• Research projects
• Using IT packages
• Organise pack resources to support groups

How often do I need to volunteer?

Flexible working patters that can be tailored to the volunteers availability. This can be discussed on enquiry or application.

How will I be supported?

An office induction is provided and guidance and support is given for all tasks. This is an opportunity for those interested in experience of office work to learn at their own pace with supportive staff.

Support for volunteers is available through the Volunteer Coordinator at any time during office hours. We have an open-door policy and we encourage our volunteers to drop into the office whenever they would like to discuss their volunteering, have support for themselves or just come for a cuppa and a chat.

Volunteering for Home-Start Flintshire provides a wide spectrum of experiences and opportunities which can be beneficial for volunteers from all backgrounds including those that are looking to go back to education or returning/starting work. Before volunteers become Office Volunteers must attend an office induction and complete a volunteer application and DBS checks which is paid for by Home-Start Flintshire. We also offer reimbursement of expenses accrued traveling to provide Home-Start Flintshire volunteer services.
