Main description
Due to recent business growth, AGS Fire and Security Ltd are looking to recruit a brand new fire and security engineer apprentice to support with their busy workload, and help continue this growth into the future. The lucky apprentice will be a valued part of the team who will be supported throughout their studies.
As a Fire and Security Engineer, you will be learning about, and working on, installing, repairing and maintaining the following fire and security equipment:
- CCTV
- Intruder alarms
- Access control
- Door entry
- Fire alarms
Entry requirements
Desired skills/qualities:

G C S E Qualification to minimum Grade C in Maths and English

A full UK driving license is a requirement for this role
- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS background check
- Experience with electrics, or an electric-related qualification would be a bonus, but not essential
- Genuine interest in learning more about the wider fire and security industry
- Technically minded with solid IT skills
- Happy with attending Skills for Security’s Warrington training centre one week in every 8 weeks for block release classroom training
- Presentable, with great customer service

Training to be provided
Skills for Security will deliver the Level 3 apprenticeship.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre, and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
The training centre for this vacancy is located in Warrington. You will attend centre one week in every 8 weeks, Monday – Friday, as part of a block release schedule.
Things to consider
The apprenticeship is 36 months – full commitment to your studies is required throughout.
Future prospects
To become an independent, abled engineer within the business, with progression opportunities as the company continues to grow. There is a possibility to progress to junior engineer, then even senior engineer after you complete the apprenticeship.
