Pave Aways Ltd are recruiting 2 Multi-Skilled Operative Apprentices. The apprenticeships are open not just to school/college leavers but also the perfect opportunity for anyone considering a career change.

As a Multi-Skilled Operative Apprentice, you will work on-site (under the guidance of a mentor). The apprenticeship will last 24 months, and you will attend college 1 day a week to work towards a Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
The location of sites will vary, possibly from week to week. This will generally be in the Shropshire area.

A full driving licence is essential, as they will need to be able to travel to different sites.
Breakdown of hours for each day: 40 hours per week, salary to be confirmed
Mon-Thurs 7.30am – 4.30pm
Mid-Morning Break 10am-10.20am
Lunch Break Monday – Thursday 1-1.30pm
Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm
Mid-Morning Break 10am-10.20am
Lunch Break – 20 mins
Polo shirts, t-shirts and jackets provided, PPE all provided. Steel cap boots £100 per year reimbursement. Upon completion of 3-month probation, you can claim back £300 towards tools.
What you will do in your working day
The successful applicant will be trained under the guidance of their mentor to perform the below duties on site:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks
- Carry out minor planned and responsive repair works to a high quality
- Report faults and defects to others as necessary
- Create a safe working environment following health and safety guidance
This list is not fully extensive and the successful applicant may be expected to undertake additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management.
The training you will be getting
- The successful applicant will first work towards the Property Maintenance Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- The Apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to conduct the general day-to-day maintenance required to keep a range of properties in a good state of repair.
- The programme is delivered using a blend of on-line, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics. This is an ideal start for aspiring carpenters looking to take the first step in their careers.
- Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours – Learners and employers will have a range of options to select from that cover each knowledge module of the apprenticeship standard.
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required – These provide practical skills to help gain the most out of work, education and everyday life.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- For the right person, there will be a full-time opportunity for the apprentice.
